Quote template for freelancers
A quote tells a client what the work costs before they say yes. A clear one lists each piece of work with its quantity and price, adds up correctly, and says how long the price holds.
What a good quote includes
- Your details
- Your name or business name, address and email, and your tax number if you have one.
- The client
- The client’s name and address, the same as on the invoice that follows.
- A number and dates
- A quote number, the date, and the date the quote is valid until.
- Lines
- Each piece of work with a quantity, a unit price and an amount, such as days × day rate.
- The total
- Line amounts and the total, worked out to the cent.
- Notes
- Anything the price depends on, such as what isn’t included.
